Promess Names Andrew Joseph Vice President of Engineering
Promess, Inc. has announced the promotion of Andrew (Andy) Joseph to the position of Vice President of Engineering for the Brighton-based manufacturer of advanced electro-mechanical assembly systems and system components.
He succeeds Walter Bosch, one of Promess’ original employees, who started with the company in 1984 and retired earlier this year.
Joseph was previously Promess’ Director of Product Development. As Vice President of Engineering, Joseph will be responsible for all Promess research and development activity, product discovery and product strategy.
“Andy has been instrumental in developing many of the products and systems that have fueled the growth of Promess since joining the company full-time in 1998,” said Promess president Glenn Nausley. “Now he will focus that experience on creating products and systems to enhance our leadership in advanced assembly methods and forward-looking control solutions as we move into a new generation of IoT based manufacturing.”
Joseph originally joined Promess as a high school student working part time as an intern in the Software Development Department. After working his way through the University of Michigan and earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, he briefly was employed by a health care management firm as a software developer before returning to Promess in 1998.
“Promess is a unique company and a great place to work,” Joseph said. “We are focused on developing high-tech manufacturing and assembly solutions, but never lose sight of the fact that it’s people who make that possible. I am really looking forward to being part of the team that keeps Promess technology a step or two ahead of the pack as we move into the future.”
Promess is a 36
–year-old firm that develops, manufactures, and markets its family of sensing devices, electronics, assembly presses and test systems on a global basis.
